Derek Mahon

Derek Mahon (Belfast, 1941) rappresenta una delle voci più importanti nel panorama della poesia irlandese contemporanea. Con Night Crossing del 1968 si afferma all’interno del cosiddetto "Belfast group" (movimento poetico irlandese che caratterizza la poesia anglossassone degli anni Settanta); pubblica in seguito Ecclesiastes e Beyond Howth Head (1970); The Snow Party (1975); The Sea in Winter e Poems, 1962-1978 (1979); Courtyards in Delft (1981); The Hunt by Night (1982); A Kensington Notebook (1984); Antarctica (1985); Selected Poems (1991); The Yaddo Letter (1992); Selected Poems (1993); The Hudson Letter (Wake Forest University Press, 1996) e testi sul teatro (The Bacchae: After Euripides, 1991, :The School for Wives a play in two acts after Molière, 1986).
